Both patients were during the day admitted at Hvidovre Hospital due to suspected infection with the novel coronavirus. This means that both have been isolated and that the trained healthcare personnel has handled the patients according to the guidelines regarding particular infectious diseases.

”It is of course good news that none of the two suspected cases are infected. The process has run smoothly. Hvidovre Hospital has handled both patients exemplary”, says Søren Brostrøm, Director General of the Danish Health Authority.

With the current test result no cases of the novel coronavirus has occurred in Denmark as of yet and the risk of becoming infected in Denmark is small. This is also the case for Danish airports and there is no need to worry when travelling to and from the airports.

“Fortunately, we have a well-tested and effective emergency management system. We have increased out information efforts about the novel coronavirus towards travelers and employees in the airports. Travelers, who were in the airport this morning when the traveler suspected of infection arrived, do not need to worry. Luckily, it seems that only people in direct contact with an infected individual are at risk of contracting the novel coronavirus. Not if you have merely been in the same building”, Søren Brostrøm explains.
