Sundhedsstyrelsen er ved at udarbejde en MTV-rapport om primær forebyggelse med ICD. ICD-behandling benyttes i Danmark til forebyggelse af pludselig dødsfald hos patienter, der har overlevet hjertestop (sekundær forebyggelse) eller som har en formodet høj risiko for at få livstruende rytmeforstyrrelse (primær forebyggelse).MTV’en baserer sig på en igangværende randomiseret, kontrolleret, klinisk undersøgelse, der undersøger effekten af primær ICD-behandling. Derudover indgår der flere ph.d.-forløb i MTV’en, der undersøger andre relevante aspekter ved behandlingen.Formålet med MTV’en er at bidrage med et beslutningsgrundlag til indikationen for primær ICD-behandling, herunder at beskrive de:
