The Danes' drinking habits

  • In 2007, every Dane aged over 14 drank an average of 12.1 litres of pure alcohol
  • 860,000 people exceed the maximum alcohol intake
  • 585,000 people consume harmful amounts of alcohol
  • 140,000 people are dependent on alcohol
  • 122,000 children grow up in families with alcohol-related problems
  • Alcohol consumption is related to 60 different illnesses
  • Excessive alcohol consumption has a major impact on individuals, their families and on society as a whole
