Either the Nordic Agreement or the EU/EEC provisions (or both) may apply to Nordic doctors. Applications will be dealt with according to the code of practice most favorable to the applicant.
Application and documentary requirements An application form can be found under the link in the box to the right. The documentation below must be submitted together with the application in the form of original documents (which will be returned by registered mail) or of certified true copies.
Language requirements No specific level of language skills is required to obtain authorization etc. It is the responsibility of the appointing authority to assess that the doctor meets the requirements of the Danish Practice of Medicine Act that every doctor must practice medicine carefully and conscientiously. To comply with this provision, doctors are required to be capable of responsible communication with patients, relatives, other hospital staff, etc.
Registration fee A registration fee to the amount of DKK 1.206 must be paid for a permission to practice medicine independently and DKK 4.165 for each specialist title.
Processing of the application All complete applications will be processed within a maximum period of three months.
